Our Story
Harmonising was lovingly crafted by Leah Kennie and Dan Henley. With our backgrounds in Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, ayurvedic energy work and nutrition, the opportunity was to extend the benefits of our approaches to people across the country, by creating retreat experiences that soothe the mind, lift the spirit and nourish the body.
About Dan

I have always been fascinated by psychology and philosophy. What makes us the way we are? Is it nature, just our genes, our flesh and blood? What roles do environment, upbringing and conditioning play? Why is it we can struggle to shift negative feelings, self-defeating behaviours, damaging habits and addictions? There are greater questions too. Does the brain create consciousness, or merely filter it? If the brain filters consciousness, what is it and what might the implications be for the nature of our existence?

In common with so many people, difficult times came to my life, and I sought help. My experience in therapy was transformational. I would say that the greatest revelation I experienced was that the mind NEVER works against us. It always seeks to help. The problem is that sometimes the way it seeks to help can feel distinctly unhelpful. So, anxiety and depression can be said to be helpful in preparing us for conflict, or to avoid it. Over-eating, drugs and alcohol can help us control our mood. People-pleasing can gain us approval, where self-esteem might be lacking.

My journey in therapy changed my life and I decided to help others do the same.

I qualified as a hypnotherapist in 2016, and since then have undertaken numerous additional courses. I qualified as a practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in 2018, honing my skills and developing an all-consuming fascination for the work.

Hypnotherapy is so effective because it uses the power of suggestion to make positive changes to negative feelings, beliefs and behaviours, where they have their origin, in the deepest part of your mind. This is a part of your mind you have no access to unless you’re dreaming. The transformation it helps people achieve can be staggering in terms of both the power of change and the rapidity of it. In recent years there has been an influx of people wanting to experience Past Life Regression as well, this tending to be more about curiosity than therapeutic need.

NLP harnesses our knowledge of neurology, influential language, imagery and association, to create rapid state change. In private practice, I always use a powerful combination of Hypnotherapy and NLP to successfully work with clients experiencing problems such as anxiety, depression, addiction, fears and phobias, weight loss, pain, PTSD and low self-esteem.

On a mission to ensure that as many people as possible experience the benefits of Hypnotherapy, I have been jointly running mental health retreats since 2023. The retreats have become increasingly popular since their inception, with fantastic feedback from attendees.

Now working with my partner, Leah, whose modalities of working bring so many other benefits, this journey will, I am certain, extend many years into the future.

I can’t wait to continue the healing!
About Leah
Beginning with an early love for nature, I have always been fascinated by the intricate balance of life. This perspective informs my holistic approach, creating opportunities for people to reconnect with nature and themselves.

My work weaves together a deep knowledge of the natural world, with the transformative power of holistic practices. This unique blend fuels my passion for creating experiences that nurture body, mind and spirit.

After graduating with a first-class degree in natural sciences, I travelled the world extensively, absorbing all I could learn from the different cultures I immersed myself in. On a retreat, I stumbled upon a book about Ayurveda. Ayurveda literally means the study of life. It is a holistic wellbeing system originating in the Indian subcontinent, which traces its roots back over 5000 years. It absorbed my focus and imagination from the very opening pages. Driven by a deep urge to learn more about ayurvedic principles and energy work, I began what has become a truly transformational journey, qualifying to practice soon after.

My work is guided by the profound connection between ayurvedic energy and the power of personalised nutrition. The ayurvedic energies, or Doshas, are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. They are the three fundamental energies that govern our physical and mental constitutions. Vata is associated with movement and air, Pitta with transformation and fire, and Kapha with structure and earth. Understanding your dominant dosha helps you to make dietary and lifestyle choices that promote your inner balance and well-being. Sharing these understandings and seeing their transformative power has become my passion.

This effectiveness of this work, inspired me to look into other alternative therapies which could compliment it, helping people to relieve stress, tension, and pain. I found a further calling in the study and practice of Indian Head Massage, qualifying as a practitioner in 2021. This embraces the connection between muscular release, our sense of smell, and emotional well-being. Delving into the study of therapeutic oils, as an inherent part of this practice, opened my eyes to how scents can significantly impact mood, stress levels, and overall mental state.

The Harmonising retreats enable me to bring the healing my work enables to wider audiences around the country. A passionate vocation taken to a new level!
